Roger in 60 seconds
Every time I see this guy he complains about how much he hates his life. He’s been married for over a year now and always talks about getting divorced. He lives with his mother n law, his wife and his 1 year old kid. Apparently his mother n law disrespects him on a daily basis and is plotting to get them separated.
The mother n law really has it in for this guy. She disagrees with his work ethic, his life style, and his friends. In addition, she always threatens to kill him if he hurts her daughter. Everyone in that household including the 1 year old kid drinks alcohol. When they all get wasted things start flying around, voices get louder and Roger typically ends up sleeping at one of his friends’ houses.
Roger has a tough time at home, but Roger isn’t a saint either. Roger has a hard time keeping a job, doesn’t manage his money well, and always goes out with his friends.
Now you may say that Roger behaves this way because of his harsh conditions at home, but the mother n law would fight you if you took Roger’s side. Their is always two sides to a story, so I’ll let you decide which side to take. Stay tuned.

Having a family for most Americans is easy. There is a mom, dad, kid and the grandparents which you see a couple times a year during the holidays or the weekends. With La familia you are forced to see them multiple times a week. Someone is always moving, having a party or needing HELP. I know that the HELP thing got your attention but you must realize that moving and birthdays are also a big deal if you are talking about 25+ people. Back to the help situation. My most recent situation involves La familia and La Navidad.
I love Christmas. I always have and always will. Nothing better than a stress free Christmas with my immediate family. I buy my family gifts that I picked out months ago, we meet on Christmas day for a meal and voila, Chistmas. My sister in law , mother in law, husband and I were hanging out at my mother in laws house a couple months back discussing christmas. mother in law made it known that her dishwasher was broken. i spoke up and said maybe santa would give her one for christmas. mind you, they don’t use a dishwasher like most folks. american folks load the dishwasher with dirty dishes and then turn the thing on. At la familia’s house, they wash the dishes and let them dry in the dishwasher. After two years of barely ever using it, it died. my first question was, where is the warranty? Of, course my brother in law installed it and nobody wants to “waste” money on a warranty. After getting dirty looks after I asked about the warranty, I suggested that if santa was going to give her a new dishwasher, that he would definately get a warranty. you know what mother in law said???? dishwashers die every two/three years anyways so what is the point. I had to drop the whole conversation due to utter frustration.
Sister in law yesterday asks husband, are you still going in with me to buy a dishwasher? He was like yeah no problem. I then whispered to husband a store she could try. This store is known for their good deals on appliances. She then asked, where is one close to her and to give her the directions. Husband told her that he wasn’t in front of the computer and that she would have to look it up on her computer since she was at home. Then she said that since their older brother wasn’t working, that we would have to divide the cost in half. After husband got off of the phone, i was like, with what money do we have to be buying half of a dishwasher when we already bought his mother and stepdad a gift.
